Dr. Rodnell Batac earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. He completed his undergraduate studies at his hometown of Las Vegas, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Psychology and Neuroscience.
He went on to complete a residency in Pediatric Optometry and Ocular Disease at the Duke Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Batac is currently pursuing his Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). He specializes in pediatric eye care, ocular disease, strabismus and amblyopia management, myopia control, and specialty contact lenses, including care for infants and children with complex visual needs.
He currently practices at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat (NCEENT) in the North Durham, Chapel Hill and Cary locations, where he is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care for children and families.
Dr. Batac is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Society, and the American Academy of Optometry. Outside of clinic, he enjoys tennis, traveling, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with his partner and his miniature Australian Shepherd.
