Dwight D. Perry, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Perry is certified in a wide variety of advanced vision correction procedures, including V.I.S.X. Customvue LASIK, Intralase bladeless LASIK, Verisyse phakic lens implants and Visian (viz-e-an) I.C.L., Crystalens, Trulign, Acrysof IQ ReStor, and Toric lens implants for clear lens exchange and cataract surgery. Dr. Perry offers LipiFlow® treatment to patients suffering from Dry Eye and M.G.D.

Dr. Perry graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He later studied as a research fellow in Ophthalmology. Dr. Perry completed an internship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Perry is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He also serves as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons.

He serves on the attending staff of North Carolina Specialty Hospital. He has served on the Board of Directors of Durham Regional Hospital. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of North Carolina Specialty Hospital.

With an impeccable record of service in Durham's medical community, Dr. Perry also has been actively engaged in broader service to the Durham community. In 2019, Governor Roy Cooper appointed Dr. Perry to serve on the North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Central North Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Foundation for Better Health of Durham, and the John Avery Boys and Girls Club. Dr. Perry has also served as the North Carolina Central University Board of Trustees Chairman. He mentors high school students interested in the medical profession by providing them with career shadowing opportunities.

Dr. Perry is married to Veronica J. F. Ray, M.D. They have two adult children, Eva and Dwight, Jr.
