Otolaryngology - Ear, Nose and Throat

Otolaryngology, the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head & neck disorders.

ENT Doctors have special expertise in managing diseases of the ears, nasal passages, sinuses, larynx (voice box), oral cavity and upper pharynx (mouth and throat), and structures of the neck and face.

An ENT specialist begins practicing after up to 15 years of college and postgraduate training.

Otolaryngologist Training

• 4 years of medical school
• 5 years of specialty training
• 1-2 years of training in a sub-specialty such as Pediatric Otolaryngology (children), Otology/Neurotology (ears and balance.), Allergy, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngology (throat) and Rhinology (nose).
