Andi Engel, Au.D., CCC-A received her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio. She received her Doctor of Audiology degree from Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dr. Engel completed a Fourth Year Fellowship at West Michigan Ear, Nose and Throat in Portage, Michigan where she continued to practice audiology until joining the staff at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat.

She is certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners as an audiologist. Dr. Engel enjoys evaluating and treating a variety of patients to who have hearing and balance disorders including those who need hearing aids. In her time away from the office she likes to spend time outdoors, exercising, and reading.

Lisa A. Moore, Au.D., CCC-A, received her B.A. in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento and her Doctorate in Audiology from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She completed her Fourth Year Fellowship at the Durham VA Medical Center. Dr. Moore brings a diverse background with her to the field of Audiology, including an eight year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force working in the field of Medical Administration, Day Care Center Director, and experience with research on vocal learning in songbirds.

Dr. Moore is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and the North Carolina State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board. She is also certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Dr. Moore welcomes all patients, but her primary interests are balance disorders and hearing aids in adult patients. In her spare time, Dr. Moore enjoys reading, running, and watching college sports. Dr. Moore can be contacted at 919-287-3443.

Bridget A. Novey, AuD, CCC-A, is a clinical audiologist who specializes in pediatric patients. She received her BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Syracuse University. Furthering her education, Dr. Novey received her Master's degree in Audiology as well as her Doctor of Audiology degree (AuD) from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Novey is board certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and the North Carolina State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board.

Dr. Novey did her clinical training at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh before moving to North Carolina to work at Duke University Medical Center. She welcomes patients of all ages, but specializes in pediatric patients as young as newborn infants. Her primary interests are the following: pediatric diagnostics and hearing aids, auditory brainstem response testing, auditory processing disorders, and newborn hearing screen.

She has presented on Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions in Premature Infants at the American Academy of Audiology conference and lectured on the importance of early identification and management of hearing loss at a conference sponsored by the Southwestern Speech and Hearing Association of Pennsylvania. Kenneth P. Thomas, Ph. D., Director of Audiology, was educated in the pubic schools of his hometown, Charleston, South Carolina. He received his B.S. and Masters degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. He completed his doctoral studies in audiology at the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

During his twenty years of practice in South Carolina, Dr. Thomas served on numerous boards, including The Board of Examiners for Audiologists. He was chairperson for two years. Along with a group of audiologists, he assisted in founding the South Carolina Academy of Audiology that was the first state chapter of the American Academy of Audiology.

In the area of audiology, Dr. Thomas has special interest in the evaluation of patients with balance disorders and hearing aids. He is married to Katherine K. Thomas who is the Director of Community Relations and Economic Development for Progress Energy in North Carolina. He has two sons, T. Cooper Thomas of Charleston and William M. Thomas


Patricia A. Wild, M.A., CCC-A, received her B.A. degree from California State University at Hayward and her M.A. degree from the University of Denver. She worked as a clinical audiologist at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood, California for 17 years before relocating with her family to Durham. Her primary areas of interest are hearing aid fitting and pediatric audiology. She is married to Michael James, a regional manager for Nestle Clinical Nutrition and has two daughters attending elementary school.
